If you want to buy new pc now, your screwed either way. AM4 only support next zen 3 and lga1200 only support next rocket lake

PCIe 3.0 x 16 slots aren't even close to being bottle necked with any GPU in the future. I just don't see a point in talking about gen 4.0 when very few people need or will take advantage of it. We are 5 to 7 years away from moving on to PCIe 4.0. Not buying a intel product because ryzen 4th gen in launching soon has nothing to do with intel. AMD includes a free cooler that no one uses. The LGA 1200 socket will be good for 3 to 4 years of current tech and the ryzen 4000 will need a new mobo too.

05:50 you've spoken too soon mate ... AMD just bitch slapped loyal customers with regard Zen3 mobo compatibility

I bought the Intel I7-10700K. It is cheaper and faster than the Ryzen 3900XT that has four more cores. With 64GB Corsair 3600MHz memory and a 512GB NVME it works fine for my VMware use and daily computing.

1:25 that's why i bought athlone 200g and 1050ti because my monitor only can filter 60fps. and i choosed to buy a motorcycle at the cost of 15k because the 30k one motorcycle only gives me 40km extra speed, its not price to performance .

Note: 4000 series of AMD processors won’t be compatible with any am4 motherboard but X570 and B550. Beware with your word choice, you making an impression that b350 motherboard will easily support Ryzen 9 4950...

Get AMD, I never liked AMD in the past because the ran hot. Funny thing, Intel is the one running super hot and eating ridiculous amount of watts to be able to BARELY beat amd for 3-5 FPS. Intel was so confident in their monopoly that didn’t see AMD coming, and oh boy, they came back in a BIG way.

I have a i7-8700k should I upgrade to a 10th gen to go with my RTX3080?

I’m looking into building my first pc. With 10th gen Intel and 4th gen Ryzen coming out later this year I’m not sure if I should build my pc now or just wait. I was gonna go 3700/3800x with a 2070/2080s but what I really care about is hitting 240fps 1080p gaming because I don’t want to be limited by my hardware anymore. Is this adequate and should I just build now or should I wait for the releases later this year to see what’s new? I also think if I wait the price of my build will hopefully go down a bit if I do decide it’s enough for what I want, but I’m also really curious to see if Ryzen can close the gap in gaming performance later this year

Which is better for VR? I currently have a 3600X and can push 4400 @ 1.4v and it wasn't good enough!

So many stupid points, the AMD fanboy delusion is kind of funny.

- You don't need to be a pro esports player to want the best performance and frame rates from your games.
- Saying "The AM4 socket has a huge upgrade path" is a bit misleading since the path only exists if you've already bought into AM4, and there's no guarantee that path continues past Ryzen 4000
- If I'm not upgrading my CPU for 5 years, then why would I care if the socket has changed since I'll want a new mobo anyways
- No source for claim of 300-400w power consumption claim. The most I saw was around 250w

But muh cores, muh value!

So I have a 9700 K and I read a lot about how it is not ‘future proof’ because of the lack of hyperthreading.
But really how many cores (and threads) do you really need just for gaming? I understand if you are doing other things that require more cores/threads but 10 cores and 20 threads for gaming - it is really necessary?

Do I need a new motherboard if I want to get a new 10th gen CPU

I keep hearing people bash on Intel, saying AMD is such a better value. Well, I completely agree. Rightnow AMD CPU's are just overall better performance per dollar, however, I'm not a coupon clipping grandmother, I'm a Gamer/PC Enthusiast. My first decent system ever was an Intel Pentium 4 with Windows XP, and it served me well for several years until I upgraded to a Core i7 920 on X58, which has been a rock solid system for the past 11-years, everything just WORKS! As such, I choose INTEL! Unfortunately my current X58 system isn't compatible with Windows 10, so I can't upgrade and Windows 7 is out of support, so I have no choice but to upgrade now, I just don't have the luxury of waiting another year for Intel 11th Gen. I just pulled the trigger on a ASUS Z490 TUF Board and Core i7 10700K. I really wanted the ASRock Z490 Tachi, such an elegant looking board, but at $369 with questionable "Support for PCI-E Gen-4" and some "Gimmicky" features, I figured the ASUS was a better value at $200. Regardless, given how well my very modest Core i7 920 has performed over the years I'm confident I'll be more that pleased with the Z490 and i7 10700K for many years to come.

Senseless video ... the 10400F offers more performance while being cheaper than a Ryzen 3600. But being a fanboy, why would you take that into consideration ...

Hi, what if I need a laptop urgently? Should I go with the Intel 10th gen? I have tried to look for a laptop with Ryzen 4000, but I can't find them
