In today’s podcast episode, we’re talking about the wandering mind. Sometimes called “monkey mind,” this state of an active mind can seem difficult. An active mind is something all meditators face at times, especially when new to practice. It can be a major hindrance, preventing us from continuing or even starting.
We’ll start by covering the problem, seeking to understand the mind’s thoughts more clearly. What is actually going on when the mind is active? We then will discuss a few techniques you can use to help collect the mind and work with monkey mind, including concentration practice, loving-kindness meditation, and cultivating a daily practice.
