Love the posts. The most Albertan camera review yet!

It’s great that there’s now such a competitive option in the L-mount for stills and video AF. The original S5 was already great value and had great features, but I’m sure the contrast DFD AF held some people back from considering it. Thanks for the review, the sample recordings were helpful

The hockey footage and shots might have sold me on this camera. Good review!

It’s nice to see Panasonic finally get Phase Detect option in their line-up. Hopefully this will make Panasonic a viable choice for people starting in content creation and wanting to step into a Full Frame Camera.

Great video! I hope perhaps you can follow up with how continuous autofocus in stills works using it traditionally, i.e. keeping a single or group of points over the subject, without tracking, for me, that works better in hockey! Cheers!

You guys can have the snow. It's beautiful and I love the backdrop of those mountains, but Yes, I am impressed with the output from the S5 II. As a hybrid photographer, I can't wait for them to put PDAF into a GH6 II or GH7! This is the camera that we pioneers were seeking in 2012. It is the camera we THOUGHT Canon or Nikon would release in response to the 2012 GH3 and then the 2014 GH4.

Thanks for the review. I think it is a good solid camera for those who aren't already invested in Canon / Sony / Nikon. I already own an S1 and one original S5, so I am probably going to wait until the X version comes out in May. Kind of bummed that there is no mention of supporting B RAW (and that the GH6, which has been out for a long time now, doesn't support B RAW either).

Ummm, respectfully but what was that title card photo (and shot at 0:13 as well)?! I know you guys do some decent reviews, but that was a major turn off for watching your coverage of this camera. The camera is literally twisted 30 degrees in an ill-fitted cage.
