What did you think of the iPad Mini 7? Good / bad / excited / disappointed?

3rd year medical student in the US, to this day the iPad mini provides the easiest pocket reference for trainees. Where looking up information on a phone will get looks, no physician will scold a student using an iPad for information reference. That being said, clinically, there's very use for an iPad mini for healthcare professionals as all of the documentation is on desktops located all throughout the hospitals.

As an aerospace engineering student, the iPad mini is the most commonly used device, especially in smaller cockpits and tight spaces

As an artist, my main content creation device is an iPad Pro, but when I really wanna travel light, I always grab my iPad mini. It’s the perfect size digital sketchbook when on the go. Do i wish the iPad mini 7 got an OLDD screen with thinner bezels & face ID? Sure. But it’s still a HUGE upgrade for my iPad mini 5. But even if I had the iPad mini 6, I’d probably still upgrade for the apple pencil pro support & faster chip. But I’m an artist, so that’s important to me. For others, it may not be worth the upgrade. The iPad mini 8 will probably get the better screen that everyone wanted this time. But that probably isn’t coming until 2027. In the meantime, the iPad mini 7 will suit me well.

My first and only iPad is an Air 2 from 2012… so I can’t wait to grab the 7th gen mini. It’ll be a massively worthwhile upgrade.

- no 120hz (they intentionally save this for future models)
- no independent external display (only mirroring)

these two are dealbreakers.

when these two comes, i will buy.

I bought iPad mini 7 with & Pencil Pro yesterday. I already have a MacBook Air M1 and iPhone 13 Pro which I replaced the battery last month at the Apple Store. I was debating getting a iPad Air it didn’t make sense for me, so went with IPad Mini 7.

It would be great to see a side by side comparison with the Mini 6 to see how much faster the Mini 7 is doing common tasks. I get the feeling it might not be a huge difference so it would be good to see it in action.

I purchased the mini 7 and did some speed test against my M1 iPad Pro and the speed difference is negligible. I’m talking 0.4 or 0.3 millisecond speed difference on the mini against the iPad Pro M1.

Upgraded from the 2019 5th Gen. Really complements my iPhone 13 Mini. Just wish it came in the same Product Red colour.

Thanks for the content.

I was holding out for the updated iPad Pro but just couldn't get over the cost of the device and the accessories. Then when I took an honest look at how I wanted to incorporate a new iPad into my professional life the Mini actually started to make more sense. I needed something that I could use for note taking and file support while visiting clients on the road. I've been using a 10.5" iPad Pro since it launched for my needs but in conjunction with a padfolio/pen/paper so I hadn't gone totally digital.

I visited my local Best Buy once the Mini 7 hit the streets and was all set on going that route. In the back of my mind though I kind of felt like Apple was just mailing it in with this upgrade. Once I started comparing the 11" Pro and the Mini there was just no way I could settle for the Mini. The new 11" Pro feels way more manageable than my old 10.5 Pro and the Pencil Pro is a gamechanger when taking notes and working with the new iPad OS. Plus, there was a sale going on that took almost $200 off the price of the Pro so it was a no brainer at that point.

I'm now about a month in and the conversion to full usage has been awesome! The initial client visits felt strange since I no longer had my padfolio in hand but it felt way more comfortable when working with clients if that makes sense. I love the fact that I can jump right into a Note and then transfer it to the customers file to be reviewed or updated later. I've always been someone who prides themselves on keeping great notes and keeping client data on hand. Now I can keep all of that on one device and I don't have a stack of paper to recycle at the end of the week. I guess I didn't realize how much time and effort it took to convert the printed data into a digital format via e-mails & internal website data entry.

I watched this on my iPad mini 7 😁 I love it and having upgraded from a 2018 iPad the difference is night and day. I don’t need it for anything more than viewing content online and doing emails. Voice control even works pretty well on it for me, it had ground to a halt on the 2018 iPad. 0:06

I was excited for the iPad mini 7, but iPad Pro M4 11 is just so portable that I couldn't justify it. They could've done something better imo.

Why does Apple call it the Apple Pencil Pro if it's not exclusive to Pro iPads? I think people may find that confusing as the Mini isn't a Pro 🙈

I think I just need to grab this and try it out. Worst case scenario I can take it back

thinner bezels and same size ipad mini would be the greatest upgrade for me.

I have the Samsung Tab S9 and also the Mini 7, because of the form factor. I find iPad os limited compared to Samsung/Android. Surprisingly, the WiFi range on the Mini 7 is significantly worse than the Samsung tablet. But I bought it because there is no high quality small Android tablet.

it’s kinda frustrating that they didn’t even fit a 90hz screen into it, this screen size is literally perfect for mobile gaming & media consumption. 17pro is super capable to run games with 90fps. & to handle the power consumption, they could adjust the battery like +200mAh

We are most desirous of an iPad MINI Pro… One that at least has most of the features that can be found on an iPhone 16, or even better an iPhone 16 Pro… Things like; FaceID + TouchID, Spatial Capture, ProRes Recording to an SSD, 1TB Storage Capacity option, Thunderbolt/ USB4, LiDAR Scanner, Pro Motion, and maybe 1000 nits…

An iPad MINI Pro would be a game changing device….
