When you're lonely or afraid, you may find yourself reaching for the arm of someone who isn't there, or calling someone who won't answer the phone. They can't do these things, because they're no longer with us.

In anger, confusion or sheer frustration, you may call out to them, but you wonder "Can they even hear me?"

The simple answer is yes. However, we doubt if they can hear us because we can't hear them.

Well explained! My mother must think that I'm an emotional reck because I'm always crying and thinking about her. My mother passed away January 8th of this year from having three types of cancers. I took my mother's death pretty hard because we were extremely close. My mother was my best friend... In fact, she was my only friend. We were like twins. We did everything together. I truly miss my mother.

When I was 13, my first cat, Miko, died. I cried so much because he was attacked by dogs and I didn't get a chance to say bye to him. But later that day I kept seeing white flashes & I experienced a vibrating sleep paralysis that made me have my first out of body experience. Any who I appeared in my backyard & saw Miko walk in a white portal of light. It was at that moment I knew life goes on & that I did have a chance to say bye to him until I see him again. My husband transitioned at the end of March this year, and of course I miss him terribly and the seven months since he passed have been difficult at times for me and my step-daughter, but I know he hears me, and when I talk to him every day, I know he's there. I may not be able to see him all the time (sometimes out of the corner of my eye, I see him briefly), but I feel his presence and know that when I come home from work, he's waiting just like he always did, and then once he knows I'm safely home, off he goes in the spirit world to do whatever he's been doing. He also appears frequently in dreams and through meditation. That brings a lot of comfort knowing that out loved ones are never really gone. They're just in a different dimension.

My dad talked to me through a plastic water Bottle that I was holding outside and asked him if he was able to communicate with me like he said he would try to after he passed and the wind blew across the top of my water bottle and made whistling sound for about a minute

I was only five, when my three year old brother died, I went to sleep with my grandma and my parents took him to the hospital and came home in the morning without him, I ask where he was and was told he went to heaven, I ask how long he was going to stay there, forever was my answer... the same year my great grandmother died she was in her nighties...I knew at the age of five...growing up or growing old isn't a guarantee. Enjoy every moment you have because we don't choose how many moment's we receive. Share the positive freely with all..and refuse to let anything or anyone take it away...

I'm so glad they can hear us, in third grade my best friend Ellis stricklin died, someone hit Ellis and his uncle on a motorcycle and his uncle survived but Ellis died, I didn't even get to say goodbye the day he died
