Suppose you have an employee database in an excel sheet, In this sheet you might have multiple entries for the same employee, as when an employee got promoted you need to add a new row for the employee with the new designation and promotion date. Now if your boss ask you to fetch the the current designation for all the employees from the excel database. What will you do? Will you search manually? Or Will you use vlookup for the same? However there is a better solution. You need to first sort your data by DOJ/PromotionDate column in ascending order and the search your employee using Find method and pass xlPrevious value in SearchDirection paramenter of Find Method.
