Using a Tuning App to Find Your Exact Vocal Range

In this video I will show you how to use a tuning App to find your exact vocal range.

How it works: Hold the tuning app close to your mouth while singing along with the “Find Your Vocal Range” video. The app will show you the exact pitch name and number that you are singing. As you sing along with the track, make sure that both the pitch name AND the number matches the ones you see on the screen. This way you will find your exact vocal range :)

I've been playing guitar since I was 16, and I always wanted to sing but was too shy because there were better singers around me, so I focused on guitar improvisation and started identifying myself as an instrumentalist, nothing wrong with that and I got really good too on the guitar. I'm 31 now but deep down I still want to sing. I start practicing every now and then but then I get lost to what to practice and give up. I just watched three of your videos on Larynx, closing the nasal gap and this one and I'm amazed how I feel more confident with my voice and vocal range. Cheers.

This is really smart! I tried it out and can sing as low as 466.33hz. Been singing tenor for 15+ years but only started learning bass 2-3 years ago. Very happy with that.

Thank you for your informative video. I have just downloaded one of these tuning apps which are essential if singing a song in acapella. Up to now I used to sing a verse of a song into my phone..I then played a backing to it on the piano to find what key I was singing in..(and recorded the key on my phone)..These apps are much easier..Greetings from Ireland..
