I remember I saw it opening weekend with my sisters, was pleasantly surprised
I was afraid I wasn't gonna like it

Mark Waters’ direction struck gold when it hit theaters perfectly encapsulating the modern mindset of teenage girls in high school
This was my first introduction to many of these actors; Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, and Amanda Seyfried
It leaves quite an impression with its witty humor, clever writing, a fun soundtrack, and of course its large ensemble of talented actresses
It’s sprinkled with the shades of the color pink, memorable lines, iconic scenes, and paints quite a portrait of high school as far as how cliques operate thanks to Tina Fey’s own experiences in a Pennsylvania school 
There’s wonderful supporting characters by Lizzy Caplan, Tim Meadows, Amy Poehler, even Tina Fey herself
In girl world all the fighting has to be sneaky, there’s always a sense of catty ness and insecurity for all teenage girls, the girl on girl crime has to stop at some point, is it better to be part of a clique hating life than not being part of one at all?, even the smallest rumors or gossip can spin everything out of control when it gets out, all you can do is solve the problem in front of you 
Ok so a majority of these jokes would absolutely not fly today given the new social climate and the #metoo movement in place
‘Mean Girls’ still remains one of the best movies of 2004 and one of the funniest comedies of its kind serving as an educational tool for teachers as well as a cautionary tale for future high school students 
There’s always trends in the student body as well as mean girls that exist in any shape or form making this feel timeless

Crazy it lead to an award winning musical, a direct to video sequel and this years new version
Funny enough even Obama used a direct quote in his speeches, the internet made memes and gifs, and Wednesdays were declared to wear pink

For somebody all that The Barrens africa is not so far away across the globe. Technology - you see it in the bicycles and you see students outside the college playing with elastic rope.
