The kid’s argument for college not being a scam was that he uses what he learned in school for his job. Even if he’s in debt, and regardless if he uses his degree or not. That same logic can be turned on him. Even If Christianity isn’t true. The moral framework, community, and meaning that people gain from it is far better than any alternative. Not to mention it’s free.

Edit: the point of a debate is not to win and prove yourself right— it’s to discuss an issue. Yes, you expect your argument to be correct, but at the end of the day, you put your arguments on the table and humble yourself enough to hear the opposing side. When you debate, you expect to be challenged. What is the point of a debate if you will not hear the other side? That’s what i meant. Everyone who has debated knows you must learn the opposing argument to either structure yours better or admit that your argument is weak. If not, the debate was completely useless.
Winning does not equal being right.

I watched the whole video. It was so painful to watch because the little kid wouldn’t let Charlie talk the whole time. Both parties should allow each to bring out their own points. And Charlie was nothing but respectful for the whole hour long video
