Fantastic video. Instantly subscribed. Started mixing and pseudo mastering in the last 2 years and loudness was a strange concept to get my head around at first. There’s also a lot of misleading info out there on it. This was great :)

Another great great video. Keep ‘em coming. IK Multimedia is a beast I love it on my mix/master bus. I use the Ozone 9 limiter though along with Gullfoss. At times I use my hybrid mastering system which consists of using those plugins ins then to a PCM compressor the EQ then record to a CD burner then put the track back in the computer at a sample rate if 192k in iTunes

even with all the tricks like this and top level plug-ins at home, it's still not easy to get to a J Cole, Drake level loud clean master. 

What is their real secret to get that commercial loudness, is sending it to someone like Sterling Sound the only option for that level of loudness ? 🤔

Mastering is the hardest thing which I never did right. Every video shows how to master, but no one talks about how much headroom you need with these setting and without that it so useless, because even if I make headroom kick starting on -9db, and others below without clipping, and with everything it plays on -6db that now i don't know how to master with this headroom :( I hate this process and it destroys motivation to make music because every song sound quiet compared to every other tracks in internet

Would you use a colourful or mojo limiter first and then a more utility like pro-l second?
