looking forward to them opening up the RFID system and introducing waste-optimization-logic (like intelligent purge options, in-model purging, etc.)

Great video. Thanks for the details and content.
I also follow many of the major 3D printing channels and they're great too, but it was nice to have a review by somebody that's a lot more relatable and is more of a day-to-day high-end hobby user instead of a semi-professional.
Keep up the great work!

Also if I can provide a small but very impactful tip... Work on your "umm" 's when you pause for a thought. Being purposeful in this is something that has helped me out with sales and communication when face to face with people. And pausing for extra thought makes it seem like you're being intentional and thoughtful. This is genuine telpful feedback, but I hope it doesn't come across as judgmental at all!

I have a kickstarter X1C and 2 AMS, looking to add a 3rd AMS. It’s been really solid for me. Only defect was the MC board fan which Bambu sent a new one at no cost. I definitely recommend following the maintenance that Bambu recommends on their WIKI. Did the first maintenance at 300 print hours. My experience with the cool plate has been excellent. I’m only using PLA and the Bambu glue or nano polymer and have had no issues. Overall, very happy with it.

Thank you for this video and clearly laying out the GOOD AND THE BAD. Some of it doesn’t match my use care scenario (hobbyist) but great to know either way. Thank you.

Thanks for reporting in.

Got mine last week and all in all I am very impressed and satisfied with it. Very fast, very good quality at high speeds, all calibration done automatically and a filament management system. Also for me it is not too loud with all lids closed, certainly even a bit quiter than my Geeetech A20t with mufflers on.

Had some serious clogs in three positions (AMS central extruder, AMS coupling and the X1C extruder), because I tried to print multicolor with an old and kinda gritty golden PLA, which sheered off a lot of material during the extracts and retracts. Good thing is I now know how to deal with these clogs 😄. Also switching colors take a lot of time compared to my A20t, which just retracts and feeds in the next filament though it's own hot end input (it's a 3 in 1 hot end).

Will try that again with better PLAs but Multicolor is, while possible, not the strongfoot of this printer.

The software works well for me, just a few crashes but compared to cura fast and well adjusted for this printer. The Bambu Handy app also does it's job.

As far as the high speed large prints, I’d suggest lowering the speed on the first few layers, progressive speed increase.

I just ordered one I’m so excited I did buy the more expensive one because I love making all kinds of functional parts for my toys and my engineering projects. But I will say if your just in the market to print just fun stuff the P1P is the way to go

Note that the printer uses twice as much power when printing on the textured plate, and the chamber will get quite warm. This (and the lidar) is the reason for the cool plate existing, and being default.

I appreciate the straightforward review, you hit a lot of helpful points.

I've been eyeballing this for the speed for batch production, the ability to use higher temperature materials, the upgrades that come with a corexy platform, and the baked in failure detection. I'm leaning towards the straight x1c without the ams because multicolor prints aren't a use case for me.

I'm hoping that with time they can make updates to software to sort out the cloud print only issue, hardware updates like the secondary fan mounting with screws rather than double side tape, and the community ratio of normal people to people who have made this company a core part of their identity with the issues that brings gets better. Hopefully by the time they're shipping the x1c unit by itself quickly a lot of that will be resolved, as it is what I was looking for in my next printer with great functional upgrades on top of that.

Thank you for the video! My last 2 Flashforge 3D printers broke, so I am looking for a good printer from a different brand, and this video helped me decide on getting the Bambu Labs X-1 Carbon once I have the funds for it.

When you said you changed nozzles, did you go to .6 or .8 for high speed printing? Also were you using RFID filament for printing fast? Also the textured plate messes up the Lidar and that could have been another factor in your fast large flat print.

Nice video. Just following up on a few things. I currently have an Ender 5 which I've used for several years. I'm considering jumping up a bit to the Bambu X1 Carbon with AMS. If buying one today, which build plates would you go with? Seems like you've talked about most of the ones in the Bambu lineup as well as the Wham Bamm PEX plate. I know the filament types you use makes a difference but what plates do you find yourself using most oftern and why? And which filaments do you use the most (somewhat of a side note which CF filament did you end up using for your drone)? Have you found any ways to get everything to work on a local wifi network or do you still find Cloud use necessary? Due to the amount of waste poop generated do you still think multi color printing is a primary use for this printer? Seems like having multiple nozzles would really speed up the process and greatly minimize waste. Maybe someday they'll get this working and give owners an upgrade path. Appreciate any of your thoughts. Thanks.

Enjoy your informative vids! Love my BLX1CC !! My only comment is to BL, saying that I wish for a way to set option for filament runout to move to a given slot in AMS, rather than wait for us to switch it manually. It would be REALLY handy for all the partial rolls we build up, as well as the more practical reasons.

I don’t think you can call the price bad. It has way more features and performance then a prusa at the same price. If you want a nice printer you gotta pay. I will agree with the noise however, this thing is loud

good review. my experience has been much the same. Overall, have been extremely happy but there is some room for improvement. Thanks for your videos.

I heard you should let a few layers down first before bumping up to fastest speeds along with upping temps.

My biggest concern are the proprietary parts... The fact that you can't outsource parts from other manufacturer is a deal breaker for me.

Hi. Thanks for your review. Does the LiDAR work on the pre-print calibration with the textured PEI plate or does the texture mess is up?

Absolutely love my printer and ams. Only thing that sucks is when the filament breakers inside the ams. Annoying having to take it apart but that’s more the filaments fault.
