If you think about it, looking at the timeline of the arkham games it actually should have been Jason in this dlc in the first place, and not Tim.

There is also another reference to Jason Todd in this DLC. There is a moment when one of the thugs says, “The Joker really did all these things to Robin?" he means those all tortures ofc

I knew it. A Matter of Family takes place after Joker tortured and “killed” Jason, but before he crippled Barbara and she became Oracle. Joker was so happy by the fact that he physically and emotionally broke Jason that he decided it wasn’t better to just kill Bruce’s partners, he had to break them to truly hurt him. He had to take away their sense of identity and their will to fight, to shred them down to the point that they don’t even know who they are anymore, and the only one they can force their pain on is the man who turned them into a target for psychopaths: Bruce. Joker did the impossible. He broke the Batman.

I don't know, to me it seems more like a death of a family easter egg, joker's whole thing in this dlc was to kill the members of the batfamily to make batman more reluctant on working with other people, so that he would concentrate on him

Shame Asylum was never updated after Arkham Knight was released for sometime to include some kind of Easter Egg of where Jason was. I mean they had Mark Himill back, they could've had him record a *Arkham Jingle* message and patched it into Asylum.
