"15 metres of history" — a time line on Järntorget square, describing important events between 1810 and 2010 in Örebro itself, Sweden and around the world.
The time line includes the election of Jean Baptiste Bernadotte as successor to the Swedish throne, the Freedom of Press Act, universal suffrage, and the development of communications from the Göta Canal to the Internet.
Local history is also featured such as Örebro´s first street lights, Örebro as the starting point for the first engine-powered train in Sweden, and how industrial footwear production originated in Närke province.
