Historical Amnesia is a YouTube channel with videos about medieval history, early modern history, and philosophy.

The goal of Historical Amnesia is, perhaps, to show us just how much historical amnesia we have. History is a tool for understanding the world we inhabit. Identifying our roots and our current world's intellectual history helps us clear the fog of war that we have been so keen to accept as reality. The ultimate goal and future direction of Historical Amnesia is the promotion of a practical historicism.

My Goodness! I have searched high and low to find ANYTHING about Byzantium BEFORE Rome conquered it.

Thank you very much. This was very helpful indeed. I read on Wikipedia that Byzantium took the Roman side during the Roman-Macedonian war in 168 BC when King Perseus of Macedonia was defeated? Probably because they were foreseeing the Roman superiority in advance? I would be grateful for any details.

Do you have knowledge about how much of the architecture constructed by Septimius Severus survives?
