This is so vital. Even if one 'evap-well' isn't enough to sustain a human being's water requirements... two or three might be enough. It's only a matter of scaling your production. With 3-8 of them, you might have enough spare water to wash with

Edit: if you find wet soil, dig a few feet downhill and you'll find more. This technique could easily be multiplied

Ok sootch, you know me, I am a retire scout master and I specialized in teaching survival skills.
First the best hole for a single man to survive on is about 60" diameter this will give you a good production rate.
But it will not be enough to do heavy labor.
Then for the plastic use a semi transparent shower curtain with texture on one side the texture helps hold the water so you don't loose any drips outside your catch cup or bottle.
Secondly you do need to use rocks to hold the plastic in place with the shower curtain, if you have black plastic this can be placed over the top of the shower curtain and it will help speed up the production of water.
Last points, a length of IV tubing can allow you to drink off the hole all day without opening the still and halting production.
Now some tips, adding green plants, or waste water, or URINE to the hole can make a poor producing still work better.

sealing the edges of the plastic cover is important too. you can cover the edges with dirt to seal in any moisture.

Don, If you did this right in the morning, You will have way more condensation, due to the fast temp raise. That's way we see condensation under the roof off metal barns.

You can also pee (yes! piss!) in the hole, and the pure AND SAFE water content will be condensed into the cup!

Does the material of the cup make a difference? Glass verses stainless steel, etc.

Need to use two cups nested one inside the other.The plastic touching the top edge of the cup keeps the water from dripping into the cup

People always use a big ass rock. Use a small pebble instead. It doesn't pull down the plastic.
