Every hardware store I've ever been in has a handy little plastic card that you can use to size your screw or bolt or nut.

There is no reason to connect it to your phone. Mount the scanner in the display and have a single button to scan it. No phone, no permissions on your phone. no new app needed. Also will work if you don't have your phone with you (maybe you left it in the car or something.)
Only reason to need a phone app is if you can scan at home/ work.

So a bolt acanner instead of the thread and pitch size guages that we have had on the endcaps for ages... The ones that costs like $80 has imperial metric and sae, and you you want a $5000 acanner that people arent going to use.
