How to DOT and DAB plasterboard. How to use plasterboard adhesive. Drywall dot & dab tutorial.

In this video I show you how to dot and dab plasterboard / drywall to a wall using plasterboard adhesive. I show you how to mix the adhesive, how to apply the adhesive to the wall, how to fix the plasterboard to the wall, how to get the board plum and level, and I show you the tools you need to do the job. In this particular example I am lining the board up with an existing board and fix the top of the board to a stud timber using drywall screws. I also show the reality of DIY with broken tools and children thrown in the mix!

Thanks for the video, going to have to do a bit of this myself. Couldn’t get a plasterer to do the job. Had 12 plasterers turn me down or never got back to me. Two others actually came to size the job up, one was dodgy as hell and I wouldn’t let him in the house again. The other was an enthusiastic but very young chap who initially took the job and then keeps letting me down. Job needs doing by Tuesday, I’ve been messed around for weeks so having to do it myself. Screw the plasterers I say 😉

Mixing it too think then adding water to it speeds up the drying time, doesn’t matter for that small job, also that painted wall might not have a good key for the adhesive, you should chips some plaster off with a hammer for a good key

Question for you today! I'm doing a bathroom refurb. Removing 2 layers of tiles.

Dot and dab moisture board all round. What I want to know is.... I will pva the boards and paint as only tiling around the bath. The two window recesses I want a nice beaded edge...do you know of any product out there suitable?
