Excellent video!! Please keep making these videos. I often wondered how to cover brick walls in homes or building made of cinder block or bricks such as these. This is apparently just one of the many options to cover brick structures. Also video was straight forward, no b.s. and looks simple.

There are a few reasons we sheet horizontally in Oz. 1 in a typical application the horizontal sheets oppose the studs, making the whole construction stronger (same on ceilings, external cladding, roof sheets etc) its basic engineering. 2 You're working at 1200/1350 off the floor in most cases making it way faster/ more comfortable than reaching up and bending down. 3 Butt Joins... are eliminated by using longer sheets 4. (most importantly) Take for example a 6m run down a hall/ceiling where there is a lot of light thrown (glancing light) - 2x 6m horizontal sheets leaves 1 joint taped and set in contrast to 5x vertical joins to show up imperfections. light is the first thing to consider in any situation and carpenters should always consider and frame with the plasterers in mind.

Is it better to do the dot and dab or to strech it like on tiles, and can these boards be used in a welding workshop?
Thanks

Use masonry cement not cornice cement.
Both are gyprock products. Use the olaster dobs closer and apply them so it sits off the wall to make up for uneven brick work.
Make sure the mix is on the thicker side but not too thick it looses stickiness.
Some where around soft serve of thickened cream.
Dont apply too much force when slapping the board flat with straight edge.
If you dont have a background in a trade i would recommend trying to do it yourself.
It might cost you more to redo then to have it done professionally from the start.

Hi I’m a DIY beginner. Have a few questions:
1. I’m ensuring the plasterboard doesn’t touch the floor to avoid damp. But this means there’s a little void between the floor and the external wall - is this ok/normal?

We have an old solid wall house from the 1900s

2. What’s the name of the bonding coat you used?

3. What’s your view on using a plasterboard adhesive instead or a “bonding coat!?

Quick question. So I am planning on drywalling my brick wall and this process seems way easier than framing it all out. But I plan on putting shelves up after it’s dry walled. Will I still be able to put up long heavy shelves without framing it first?
