I think you missed the point Nelson was trying to make. Infinite banking can be accomplished with any savings vehicle that stores wealth... He just found that life insurance is uniquely advantageous compared to most other options thanks to the way the lending, dividends and tax treatment are structured.

The concept works with whole life but the government is keeping nothing away the insurance salesman and financial advisors are because if you design them with certain structures that are designed to benefit your needs for the policy their commissions are cut anywhere from 60-90%. Why would someone trying to earn from your business give you the worst option to do so thats why it pays to educate yourself on the matter.

Aside from not dealing with the banks red tape when trying to borrow money for investment purposes, I believe you can’t be sued for the money either… Which is just another benefit and reason why rich folks usually have multiple of these type policies stuffed with money.
Like you said if someone has the right type of cash flow then they should probably really consider it.
