Rattlesnakes may be feared, but I feel like they are more gentle and averse to aggression than their reputation. That rattle of theirs plays a big part in avoiding trouble. If you wanted to strike everything in reach, why warn them with that distinctive sound?

At first I thought you were holding that glove with something fairly long. I thought, that would still be creepy, but he is fine. Then I saw the pliers and thought, this guy is nuts. Lol

This moves me more towards the side that states a rattlesnake just wants to be left alone by humans. Regardless of warmth of the glove, betting it perceived the humans around it just fine. What does it do? Rattle a warning and keep backing away. It doesn't "charge" or "chase" the humans. The snake just wants to get away, it's bite is it's last resort if you had pressed it further. I caviot with the note that each snake is different, obviously this one just wished to be left alone. What happened to it if I may ask?

Most rattlesnakes will give you a warning with their tail before they strike at you.
