Maybe it was for the sake of pacing but I do think the original's introduction of El Gigante where the villagers are trying to pull it out and it just decimates all of them really sells that it's a 'failed experiment'. Something extremely powerful yet totally unwieldy.

He looks more menacing than in the 2005 game, but I liked his introduction better in the original, with the ganados bringing him by force with ropes and shit

I love the design of this one over the OG. The eyes for the original always looked goofy. This one really sells the hunchback look and looks properly muscular compared to the blob of the original.

I had the biggest smile on my face when the dog made his entrance. The lightning bolt behind him, the fast leaps down the rocks to Leon's aid, him biting the Giant on the heel. Just amazing 🙌

And the cherry on top of it was after the fight he doesn't randomly disappear like in the original. He's just sitting on the rocks like he's all proud of himself 🐺 😂 golden!

I'm glad they kept several of the old stuff but I don't think that thing on his back came out until after he was down for you to climb up and knife attack.

And the dog was a huge help this time instead of distracting, makes freeing it more rewarding.
