I really appreciate Dr. Shedler. His passion is so admirable. I shared the full interview with my psychiatrist. Your interviews are fantastic and I appreciate you. It is refreshing to watch a conversation that includes just the right number of intelligent but not meant -to-show off questions and comments.

I think a good part of the reasoning is the 2015 psychology crisis, exacerbated by the fact that there is such an insane demand for mental health treatment, with so few providers, people are trying to offer SOMETHING at these community clinics. But then yes, it erodes the trust in the process and the likelihood of them continuing treatment and finding someone else. compounded with the entirely unstandardized master (and bachelor) level clinicians.

I'm in Gestalt therapy training. I remember one of our trainers told us once that in clients with BPD it takes at least 50-60 sessions to let any changes happen.

Very important video, thank you Robinson. Depth or psychodynamic therapy is shown to be what most want when they go looking for therapy. The difficulty of finding it is sad. Have had patient after patient tell me their former therapist had little to say or suggest that was helpful. I'm always shocked by that.
