Following up on "My Friend Watches Soul for the first time," I wanted to take a look at this movie from a Christian lens while also talking about Christian reviewers that claim the film is evil or inappropriate for children.

Yeesh, it seems so clear the movie isn't concerned at all about religion or what happens after death. It's about appreciating life. The after/before-life is just a fantasy device that allows the viewer to gain a little distance and look at life from a fresh perspective. It's the ghosts in A Christmas Carol, the angel in It's a Wonderful Life, or the reoccurring day in Groundhog Day.

I’m no longer a christian but I grew up my whole life exactly like these people in the video. I grew up being taught that ALL MOVIES were absolutely anti god unless it’s a very blatant christian movie. It’s so crazy seeing these people and knowing exactly where there thought process is at. I don't know if you've watched these guys, but the channel Cinema Therapy is a good example of how to Christian on youtube without beating you over the head with a bible or saying all movies are bad. I really liked their episode on toxic masculinity and using Aragorn from LOTR as an example of the opposite of toxic.

The Band your talking about really reminds me of Twenty-One Pilots. There are plenty of Christian themes in there songs but they don’t want to have that label of being a Christian band because there lyrics could be taken in a different way for everyone. Really great video keep it up!

Holden, I appreciate this kind of content you put out. You obviously have a lot of passion and faith for what you believe. I myself am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (a.k.a. Mormons). I remember growing up and learning that other Christian sects, or other religions, don't believe that we have souls or spirits before we came to Earth. As mentioned in LED's video, our religion does. I don't see how that diminishes Christ's purpose or mission as He still came down, as the Son of God, and paid the price for our sins. Regardless, I just wanted to comment and say I appreciate your work on these videos and not 'bashing' them. I know talking about religion in public can be like walking on eggshells, because like politics, it comes down to a person's core beliefs and can be a very personal matter. I look forward to more of your content, whether it is things like this or your other awesome videos. Thanks!
