Canon or not, I cannot see how having a vault with 999 men and just 1 woman could be good - I mean, of course there's the chance that repopulation will have to occur, but with just one woman? It'd have to be something along the line of like 1 guy having kids, and either they wait 18 years to have kids with that kid... or Lord above, it turns into something more gruesome and unsettling.

People keep saying vault 68 would turn out horribly and is doomed to fail, but vault 69 is too; all the children would be half siblings, so you would have to deal with incest, or have the same age gap problem as vault 68. Or both.
