My only correction is that with the cost of rent these days, it can actually be cheaper to live in a sorority house than try to rent with roommates. Plus, there is a house cleaner and chef. For me back in the day it was $900 for just rent before utilities etc, or $650 for sorority house with full amenities and parking included. They really got me haha 😅 IT’S A TRAP

I spent the entire summer before rush trying to find the EXACT shades of blue and grey I needed to wear to rush. And the “look book” they sent out was insanely specific of which colors you needed for each day, always skirts and heels even though we walked all around UCSB. They even mandated that you had to wear only silver or gold jewelry on each day. You would have to line up the week before rush and the officials from PanHell would come over and “pre-view” our outfits and dock points for any color deviation from the exact shade. Too many violations and you can’t participate. On an 19 year old’s budget that’s crazy. The parking lot was 90% Audis. You actually can’t do shift work because it might interfere with a mandatory meeting. You would be heavily fined for missing a meeting, like hundreds of dollars. I dropped out haha 😂
