I had a non-puppy Dalmatian growing up. My dad would pour him beer when he drank... I swear his spots got fuzzier the more he drank.... on a separate note...  "Good Boy!"

My Dalmation has very sensetive ears so I'm very gentle when I touch them. I'm lucky, my Dalmation is very friendly so I have no worries with aggressive behavior. Many people make the mistake of calling their dogs to them when there's a potential issue and putting the leash on them. They then associate coming to you with the end of their freedom. You need to make them want to come over to you.. I whistle to my dog and she comes back to me. I'll either pat and play with her and send her on her way or hold her collar for a few seconds until the car or whatever the problem is, is past, then I let her go again.. We all learn from experience and dogs have different temperaments.

This is exactly how I trained my Dalmatian. The struggle day to day with this specific breed for me is enough exercise. It’s endless! Beware lol
