The defendant keeps dogs in a cage in the garage, and breeds them. Wow.

Knowing he bred his dog at 10 months is enough to label him as an irresponsible owner, regardless of anything else

He is lucky those bullets didn’t hit someone in the other house. I think the plaintiff was being reckless. Not only did he miss all 3 shots he could have shot someone else entirely

First off, this man is abusing his dogs. He is irresponsibly breeding them and has no reason to do so other than money. If that weren’t enough, he’s breeding females and forcing them to carry large litters at 9 months old. He should have those dogs taken from him.

Secondly, these dogs were bred to have a very specific personality. Every dog was. People say, “it’s just how you raise them, ” but giving them love and affection doesn’t inherently negate what they were bred for. You need to have specific training tailored to your dog. For example, you wouldn’t put a dog originally bred for hunting in the backyard with your pet rabbit without rigorous training on ignoring other animals, and never without supervision. You shouldn’t get a German shepherd unless you are really committed to vigorous athletic training to keep them from getting bored/ make sure they are mentally and physically stimulated enough to be happy and healthy, and because they are naturally nervous and protective, you have to socialize them, or they will become aggressive. You wouldn’t get a standard poodle and then refuse to train it or let it run. They are athletic and the second smartest dog breed. If you don’t give them enough physical activity and mental stimulation, they will not be happy or healthy. You wouldn’t get a Doberman and not socialize them well around other people because they were bred to be personal protection dogs, so they have a natural instinct to defend their human even when it is unnecessary, which can cause them to injure someone. There’s a reason specific dogs -- standard poodles, labs, golden retrievers, and collies — are the best dogs for service work and why they are exponentially more successful during training than any other breed. It’s because they were bred with certain qualities that make that type of training and the temperaments required to be a service dog a lot more attainable. Nobody who isn’t familiar with training huskies should have a husky because they are a notoriously difficult breed to train with a very specific, unique personality. Nobody who denies the fact that pit bulls (which is a blanket term that includes various breeds, mind you) should have one. Period. No matter how nice your dog is at home, you still need to be aware that they have natural behaviors that have been carefully bred over DECADES or even centuries, and it’s important to make sure you’re helping your dog live up to their potential by helping them work through those natural abilities in constructive ways. You need to be prepared to play to your dog’s strengths and weaknesses in order for them to have the best success rate when it comes to being a good pet.

You don’t need a carry permit to carry a gun on your own property.

I knew what kind of dogs the defendant had before he even told JJ. So predictable.

People are NOT required to have a license to carry a weapon on their property. He was on his property. Perfectly legal.

I'm shocked the the judge doesn't realize that in many states a person's vehicle is considered an extension of their home. If you need a permit to carry, you can legally carry your weapon from your home to your car without problems. So long as it stays in the car you are ok.

You can tell a lot about a dog owner when they call a kennel a "cage". Poor dog.
