In 2022, despite a quarter of Chinese cities experiencing lockdowns, it is puzzling that China's announced GDP grew at a rate of 3% in the same year. Doesn't that raise doubts? The global pandemic has undeniably dealt a severe blow to China's economy, yet the published economic data seems completely detached from the pandemic, which is logically unreasonable. This is ridiculous. Anybody who has any interest in China's affairs knows China cooked its GDP number year after year. NO responsible economist or financial agency ever took China's number seriously. In 2022, 1st quarter, China's Bureau of Statistics reported that 1st QT real estate sales declined by 29%. Unfortunately, most of China's Real Estate companies are public, and many are listed in Hong Kong. NONE of the listed companies reported their sales declined below 30%, some companies sales declined as much as 80%! So where did the Bureau of Statistics get its 29% number from? China's Bureau of Stats ONLY hire language majors, NOT Statistician. THIS IS OPEN SECRETE. Is there anybody not know about this?

I am NOT making this up. My friend sent me a video from Guiyang last year. There were 2 teams of workers, one team dogged a big hole, and the 2nd team immediately filled the hole with dirt and soil then poured water over it. My friend was curious as to what they were doing so he went and asked. "We are Planting Trees", the workers told him, "It's our std SOP. Team 1 digs a hole, team 2 puts the tree in and secures it, team 3 fills the hole and water it."! SO WHERE IS THE TREE?", my friend asked. "Ah, a member of team 2 got Covid, so the entire team has to be quarantined.", workers told him. THIS IS HOW CHINA'S GDP WORKS.

All of this could be explained by China’s population implosion. Indirect data related to indirect data collection analogous to that used in this video shows the actual population could be 43% lower than reported by the CPC. That’s 860, 000, 000 people vs. 1, 400, 000, 000. That’s quite an economic impact, especially when you consider the age group numbers.

I may be wrong here, but I was under the impression that the government owns all the land in China but will lease it out for 70 year terms. I thought the sale of this land to property developers or citizens contributes to their GDP meaning their GDP is quite detached from their economic growth.
