China's gross domestic product (GDP) expanded 2.3 percent over the previous year in 2020, crossing the 100 trillion yuan (about $15.44 trillion) threshold for the first time to reach 101.5986 trillion yuan. The country is expected to be the only major economy to post positive growth in the pandemic-ravaged year.
