I have a question, which one would be the bedr duitable board computer if I only loop multiable script 24/7 that do a lot of tasks?

They contain following tasks (social media image posts):

1. Downloading images, deleting images from DL folder
2. Uploading images for compression the MBs if needed
3. Opening and closing webscraper uc google chrome browser multiable times

I work with many APIs and my shortest script is 250 lines

I would be very thankful if someone can help. My rasberry Pi 4 4GB dosnt work at all for my needs... arm does not support chromedriver the way I use it.

Btw awesome and detailed video keep up the good work!

The Friendly elec Nano Pi R6S & R6C are worth a mention. They both use the RK3588s however they don't have GPIO pins or wifi, but can be ordered with a solid aluminium case. They have several OSs available. There is also the indidroid nova which is the same shape as the Raspberry Pi. I agree with your number one, the Orange Pi 5 Plus is excellent value.

Really happy to finally see someone recognize not just the Orange pi 5, but just how powerful the thing is. Price to performance is NUTS. I spent 150$ CAD (before shipping, and some import tax I never paid before :/ ) - for 150 to get a 16GB 8 Core CPU, 6 core GPU, Linux, android machine this powerful is insane, I got the regular 5, I bought it before either I knew the 5 plus exsisted or before it released cause I remember deliberatly buying what at the time was the most powerful board, and it's nvme slot, powerful CPU, and lots of ram stuck out to me. I do wish that I got the plus version since it's emmc memory is also incredibly cheap. I can get 256GB emmc for around 26$ CAD~ and that also stuck out a lot. I had bought 2 Libre le potato's (Cause I'm dumb like that) and their horrible proprietary emmc is so expensive in comparison. I think I spent the same price on 32GB as O Pi 5+ 256GB costs, which again - nuts. And I haven't actually done anything with Linux since University, but I managed to get Steam working on it, and running native linux x86 games on the arm chip. Still I can't get wine to successfully let me play other x86 games, I really want to just get Steam proton installed, and I do feel a bit duped by Orange Pi cause it does say Vulkan 1.2 support, and it semi implies that's available for linux, and not just android but I've only been told (hearsay) that vulkan on Orange pi 5 is only supported on Android? If that's true can someone please confirm that for me? For my projects (I have an 8Gb and 16 GB Nvme pi 5) I really want to get steam proton to work, and run say like Elder scrolls oblivion as a minimum. I know that it's arm, but - I got native x86 Linux games to work with Box86/64 and the panfork mesa driver, so from what I understand my roadblock is vulkan support and ugh, I've looked into writing the driver. I'm not that smart. If someone is that smart please hit me up I know I'm not the only one that is just patiently waiting for vulkan support in Linux. You'd think the Manufacturers would atleast implement it in the most popular distro's like Ubuntu, Armbian, and Orange Pi OS (Arch) - Cheers Helping Ninja, You've been very informative for me these passed months and I appreciate your content!

Terrible recommendations. If I am going to spend $200, it's going to be on a real mini PC. Also, it's 2023 and you're recommending a 3000 level Intel CPU? WHY?

Hello. Im new in this "niche" about sbc. Which cheap sbc do u recommend for basic use, web programming and maybe some retro games till n64 or ps1?

Nice video, i have orange pi 5 plus 16g ram, but i have to say that there isnt on os that can play even 4k60fps without drop frames. Only ubuntu can play little smooth for 4k, i wish they will find a solution to use gpu acceleration .

I received my Orange Pi 5 Plus (16GB) back in mid June and ran the Debian 12 image that Orange Pi web site provides. Got some weird bluetooth kernel errors in the logs until I put a bluetooth USB module into it. I later switched to Armbian Ubuntu server 22.04 because there is an Ubuntu graphics driver available for that O/S version. The Armbian version seems a little more stable to me. I'm running Docker with Jellyfin and have a 1TB M.2 NVME drive on it. Only there isn't a good way to make the docker image of Jellyfin use the underlying graphics hardware. Hoping Jellyfin adds H/W support for the Arm Mali-G610 chip soon. Also designed two 3d printed cases. Will be posting the case designs soon.

this list is awful. scb's are ment to be fairly cheap boards for single task projects. These are all just real bad replacements for NUC style computers, with the prices to match.

Hey ninja...have you got the rk3588 data sheet yet? Coupled with the arm7 and arm8 tech refs are about 2000 pages. It will take me years. Also look at the QtConfig(in build config on opi)... It took me a day just to go through it... And I been at this awhile. Good work guy🥰❤️😇, jpk

Agreed. Orange Pi 5 Plus is #1 on my experiment desk. Also trying out the Lichee Pi 4A for RISC-V architecture for open ISA. Although only quad core at 1.85GHz, 16GB RAM and
256GB eMMC for disk.

Only thing the Odroid H3 is lacking is thunderbolt.

Diky za video, pekny 😊 BTW chapu vase zamereni na mezinarodni cilovku ale neplanujete alespon CZ titulky? Videa nejsou tak dlouha, slo by to udelat. Urcite mate pripraveny scenar tak text znate. Jinak mam objednany Orange Pi 5 Plus 16GB a uz se moc tesim jak si s nim pohraju 😅 Jak tu uz nekdo vzpominal, jaky OS bude mit nejvyssi vykon? Nemohl by jste udelat nejaky performance test v ruznych OS? Bylo by to zajimave video 😊 Diky

There are many fake RPi SBCs. However, very few of them will run the GPIO PWM RPi servo examples out of the box. The Orange Pi5 can do it if you mess around with it long enough.
This makes the RPi4 very popular for learning hobby projects. The OPi5 runs TensorFlow Lite and OpenCV about 2-4 faster than the RPi4. 😎 Great video, thank you.

I have question. Can I SPI flash image on my Orange Pi 5 nvme even if I have OS installed? Can I overwrite it?

Hello Ninja, Nice video, I have a problem with my root password on my Orange Pi5 running Ubuntu. I have already flashed my system 7 times using the latest image. I have tried both M2 Boot and Micro SD, but the result is always the same. It says "Password successfully changed, " but unfortunately, it remains as "orangepi." I have tried the following commands: sudo -i, sudo passwd, or sudo passwd root. Do you have the same problem? lg
