As an old tech fan (75), I just don’t have the money to play around with the gear you show. Love the way you teach this old head.🙏🇦🇺👍

Best USBC of 2022😉. Very useful comparison thanks.

I now rewatch your videos every week with my young grandchildren who've for 18months have encouraged me to help them use, understand and program SBCs and assemble some simple robot kits and also make custom web + home automation projects together. They do both now say "Let us take... a closer look” whenever they pickup a smartphone or SBC. All this reminds me so much of the early 80s computing and electronic programming projects I did back then, and the automatic lego sorting contraption I'd designed and made for the Oric-1 and ZX81 and demoed at the Alexandra Palace home computer show around 1982.

Perhaps a Christmas present suggestions video for SBC fans would be a good idea. 🤔

Rock 5 gets my vote (and money). Very capable board, lots of connectors, very beefy ram options, with decent enough support (radxa devs are active on the forum)

My very first SBC that i have ever owned was the Raspberry Pi 3. I'm happy to say that i just pre ordered the Rock 5B😁!

I absolutely love SBCs. Especially the rather minimalistic ones cause I love to see how much you can get out of how little 🙏

I feel that RISC-V isn't ready for prime time if it lets you fall into pools of lava. But, I'll keep an eye on it in case they fix that design flaw.

Thank you for the Sunday round up Chris! In 2023, it would be nice to see more competition with SBC's including Risc V boards, better software support/video playback, a good desktop replacement, not too much to ask. As for supply chain issues I don't think it's going to improve perhaps until 2024 especially with the way our economy is heading a bit gloomy!! : (

It's been a pretty good year for SBCs! I too hope that in 2023, there will be more RISC-V boards as well as more Raspberry Pis being more widely available again. The LattePanda 3 Delta is my favorite out of this bunch!

Also, regarding when you fell into that lava on the first level of Quake, that was actually the difficulty selection hallway. 😅

Your videos are really cozy. I hope to get into SBC projects once prices go down (and things are less busy!). Thanks!

Your #5 entry reminded me of this joke that Ronald Reagan told in a speech (with Bob Hope on 1987-05-10):

"You know, Bob does have time to have some fun other than just entertaining like this. Now, for example, out there in Los Angeles, we've got a couple of racetracks. And Bob was going to go to the races when Hollywood Park opened. And for 3 days -- or 3 nights, I should say, he dreamed of number "5.'" So, he went to the track when it opened, and he went right down the program to the fifth race and then to the number five horse in the fifth race. And it was named Five by Five. He bet the bundle on it; the horse came in fifth."

I would love to see a Raspberry pi FPGA option. Playing around with digilent and altera, but with the pi foundation community behind something like that it would make it more accessible to everyone at possibly a lower price.

Thanks to one of your previous recent videos, I have ordered an Odroid M1, which is a departure from Raspberry Pi for me, the only SBC's I have used thus far.

I just wanted top say thanks for the great content, but I'm like you hoping Raspberry Pi's become more available, as I could really use one for my main TV for general computing, and game emulation to replace an aging power hungry desktop, but I'm also excited to see where RISCV goes, as we really need some good competition to ARM, and X86.

A fair list Chris, and I hope that there will be more Risc V boards coming soon.... It's a platform that I feel could take off greatly (Well, I hope it does).
Thanks again Chris, enjoy what's left of the weekend!
