Whoever would rather have a Jeep Wrangler than a cayenne clearly has never driven a cayenne. Jeep is so sloppy and all over the road. Maybe a tad better off road, but most of these jeeps are on the road 95% the time

Off road tyres is what really unlocks this beast. 265/65R18 is a good size, same size as transsyberia cars. No rub on air suspension cars either.

Cool video, more offroad content with the cayenne would be great :)

My S has air suspension and sits at 11.5" of clearance in extreme terrain mode.

Actually open differentials will always split torque 50/50%. Even if only one wheel is spinning. What actually happens is the engine is only making enough torque to spin one wheel. And because the spin wheel has very little friction it only takes a very little anount of torque to spin. So the wheel with traction isnt getting enough torque to move the vehicle forward. By braking the spinning wheel your increasing the friction, so both wheels receive more torque.

Although the truck is very capable off-road, watch out for the tires.  Those rubber-band performance street tires are extremely vulnerable to any kind of sharp rocks, and if you have to rely on the inflatable space-saver donut spare, you're screwed.  don't even think about taking the truck on any sort of Death Valley or Mojave Road expedition without addressing the tire situation first - including the acquisition (and storage) of a matching spare.

Those active roll bars are a fantastic option for any of the luxury cars. It's a shame it's an option as most new buyers do not appreciate just how good that technology is.

Thanks for the great video ^_^
I'm in love with the old generation of the Cayenne especially 2008 and 2009 and how it's aggressive & muscular look in my opinion way better than the new gen. froggy look (big disappointment for me back in 2011). I'm in love for 10 years now and I can't forget it cuz back in the years it's very expensive, so I'm planning to get 08 or 09 but My question is do recommend the Cayenne s or turbo? Even i heard that the Turbo has more problems & less reliable than the S, but My heart goes for the Turbo how it performs and how the face lift more aggressive than the S model.

❤Is this a 2008 Cayenne Turbo? The 2008 Turbo has all that? Locking diff, Air suspension, low range. Guess Ill have to join the Porsche Cayenne Turbo club and buy one!!!

Great video. Need to add a point for comfort, styling, and power :)

I have done a long haul in a Jeep, and felt it at the end :(
My GTS, well you know the feeling :)

The transsyberia edition is even better off road than the turbo. Then again I don't remember any jeeps even doing the transsyberia rally, much less winning... two years in a row.

2:01 did you mean the cayenne doesn’t come with rear differential lock as standard?!!
I think it’s comes as standard because the leavers button of the differential locks on the console had a rear light in the middle of rear differential…

As you know; the “ X “ logo that comes in differential buttons in all kinds of cars is meaning for position of locks

Yes the clearance and differentials make it sturdy off road. But it simply wasn’t built for off roading. You will destroy the sides and underbelly in rock crawling, not to mention anything on a Porsche is 2x as much to fix as 4wd off road truck or jeep. Pretty cool features though.

Have you broken anything yet? How expensive and readily available are replacement parts?

Jeeps are a dime a dozen. I can't tell any of them apart either... The Cayenne is head and shoulders nicer in luxury!

Does the cayenne share same body with the VW Tuareg?

Do you know what year they ditched the low range transfer case? and did it ever overlap with the front sway bar disconnect? Because I was looking for a cayenne with the PDCC button, but as a Turbo S model. I did end up picking up a 2005 Turbo, and I love it. It's like 95% of what I was looking for and only paid $9, 200 after all taxes/licence/registration.

Good video. A little switch up from the usual. I like it. Where was it shot?

Hi, thanks for your video. Very informative... what Tyres do you have on your Cayenne? Those look lie our 21” wheels... were you running AT Tyres? Ours are 295/35/21 but don’t think these would be suitable for 4x4’ing.

Not an off-road feature, at approximately 145 MPH the air suspension automatically lowers itself another inch (below the regular low level not loading level) to hug the ground better at speed. This little known tidbit is NOT documented in the manual.
