I own a v6 2015 base for about 3 years now. Put plenty of miles on her 160k ZERO problems so far, whips thru the city swiftly and gets decent gas mileage even at $4+ a gallon. My wife and i did research on its reliability and the v6 is bulletproof and suits our family's needs. honestly i don't have any complaints about it. I would like to upgrade the wheels and bumpers but i dont wanna look like a poser so idk yet. I would definitely recommend a cayenne to anyone.

I bought a Cayenne last year with the VR6 engine. I drive around 15-20K miles a year, mostly to work, etc. I test drove a couple of S's and a Base. Yes the S has more power, but, for my daily needs it wasn't needed. In the year I've had it, I've had 2 oil changes, changed the spark plugs, a new set of tires, and engine mounts. So, all wear items on a 12 year old vehicle. No check engine lights, or anything. It's been solid.

I’m a former Euro Tech. They’re are all literally fantastic. I personally own the base VR6 (it’s not a V6). They also all have Toyota transmissions. They’re bulletproof and all of these cars are well built. Just realize you still need to maintain it and replace certain parts as it gets older.

I have a 2014 Turbo S with a ECU tune.
Current output around 650hp!

First guy that doesn't talk crap about the V6. I have a 2017 gt-r and a 2019 r8 v10 plus for fun but as family car I just went with V6 because it's the most reliable by far and my wife also drives it. With the fat tires on the 18inch rims it would be hard even for my wife to curb rash them. If this was my only car it would really feel underpowered but as a family car that wife also drives it's just the right amount of power. The handling feels really good, almost like a normal car. I had a G63 prior to it and it was handling and vibrating like a tractor. If this is your only car go for GTS or Turbo, but if you already have a hobby car and you don't wanna break the bank V6 or S are good enough.

I’m leaning more towards GTS, but may consider the turbo. This video was helpful TY

A good general breakdown of the line! I purchased an immaculate 2011 Cayenne Turbo with a rare blue leather interior. Meticulously maintained by the previous owner. I absolutely love everything about it!

ive had my 2009 immaculate black with black leather interior, with high spec options one previous owner v6 base for 5 years now still only on 71k miles, ive seen over 140mph on a track off a fast corner on a long straight, can get low 20s around town, 28/29 mpg on motorway, i did absolutely loads of reaserch before I bought amd shyed away from the v8 staight away because of the coolant pipes and posible bore scoring issues of the V8 s.... Imo the reason the base v6 gets called underpowered by people who dont own one on the Internet is because they're not familiar with the vehicle, on the 2007 on facelift the sport button makes a big difference, then there's also the fact that the throttle pedal is very heavy so if your not used to it, o can see how it feels theres not much power, your just not pressing hard enough (weird but fact)
Then theres the gearbox, it adjusts to your driving habits, so if you just drive around town it gets very lazy, short shifts up through the gears far to early and feels slughish, but if you know how to drive it by resetting the gearbox, being firm with the throttle in sport mode it transforms it completely, it can even down shift 1 or 2 gears depending on speed by double tapping the throttle on entry to corners so you exit in the correct gear if your pushing on. Also base dosent have to mean basic mines got full leather, nav, phone, heated front rear seats, dual zone ac, air suspension, .... Ps my fun Sunday car is a V8 ac cobra so the cayenne isn't the fastest car ive driven either. Underpowered, .... stupid internet🤣🤣🤣🤣

Concept of performance in US versus Europe is for sure very different 😁 With speed limits at 85 miles, straight highways, etc the V6 is overpowered in any case !

Here's my dilemma and trying to figure out what to get. I am driving an Audi Q8 and love it, but my wife gave me the green light to get a Porsche Cayenne, and my budget is the GTS coupe. I have been looking into this one, and it is not easy to get one. If I found one, the dealership would mark it up to $25K, defeating why I want the 6000lbs SUV. Here's the funny thing, there is a lady driving a Q8 like me, and I see her daily at my kid's school. She got the Q8 before me, and I got mine before knowing her. She just got a Cayenne GTS. If I get the GTS, it's like I am copycatting her. Stepping up to the TURBO will cost a little more and I may miss a few options. Also, it is still a Cayenne coupe, but I love Porsche.
