Is the Cayenne the best luxury performance SUV out there?

Screens - no.
Buttons - yes.
Are car makers listening? No, because it's cheaper than physical buttons.
Especially in a 'driver's car', continually using screens is dangerous, and annoying.

Looks marvelous. Also, the design of the front console looks well thought through. Definitely will be getting one when the possibility arises.

The EV Macan and Cayenne are going to sell like crazy.

The 2nd generation Cayenne will always be my favorite, definitely the best looking one all across the range

(8:55) ... no, I don't want the air suspension, because it costs more and because air suspension is always going to fail on any car that has it (and it's been notorious in four-door Porsches).

I understand how a luxury SUV may not be so much a step up among SUVs but as an alternative to a luxury sedan. The Cayenne continues to build on its considerable appeal. A couple of quibbles, though: The front end now looks boxier and heavier. I see how it emulates the redesigned — and smaller — Macan but at this scale it looks clunky, like a big lawn mower. Also, the push button engine START is a serious faux pas, full stop. It suggests that even Porsche themselves concede this SUV isn't "a real Porsche."

Actually, nobody without studying the cars side by side will tell the difference between this and a 2023.

Sadly the previous model looked better inside and out. Passenger display is good but that’s about it unfortunately. Gearstick MIA and no central analog tachometer. What were they thinking ?

How can you criticize that they swapped the v6 for a V8 in the S…cmon we want v8s

Were you ever able to compare with a base suspension (PASM only and no air)? Did the Air actually ride better?

Not a fan of the styling inside or out. I will stick with my 958.2. Physical buttons> capacative touch or touch screen, ditto with analogue gauges vs a screen. I dont doubt that the chassis and drivetrain are an improvement over my Cayenne, but looks and operator interface matter a lot more than most enthusiasts want to admit and for me they are deal breakers here.

Such a beautiful refresh. I’m going to get the Coupe E Hybrid when my Tesla MYP lease is up.

I love the layout of the interior of Taycan which is duplicated in the Cayenne. The gear shifter is not a big deal. It’s so easy to get used too and as you put it into gear the selection is right above the shifter. Improves situational awareness as gear selection is right above the gear shifter. The car is by an order of magnitude harmonized beautifully with what driver really needs at the moment. This guy reviewing the car is trying hard to find something wrong which in the big scheme of things is not even really that big of of a deal. Just trying, but failing to convince his milk toast effort of trying to be balanced a bit phony. However, I would recommend the S version but the base is made just fine. If you really want an option added to it, do it and don’t look back. The Porsche Cayenne is the best SUV and there is no close second. Open your wallet and just do it. You won’t regret it. I had 3 Cayennes, 2 Macan’s, 3 911’s and 1 panamera. I’d like to think I know the brand and not one has ever been short of miraculous! Enjoy!

Surprised that this SUV does not come with a flat-bottomed steerng wheel. My 2020 Audi Q3 has one, and you don't know how helpful this is until you have it. When you enter/exit the car, your thighs don't touch the steering wheel

It actually is the best cayenne ever made. From inside and out. But I’m speaking about the coupe version. The regular version doesn’t handle the same, and the rear end styling could be improved.

You know you're growing old when presenters look way younger than you

Adaptive cruise should be on the steering wheel as buttons, so much more intuitive and safer, the stalk type set up is old tech and cheap. Also the screens are luxe and modern.
