Really great episode.
The key word in almost all the research about spinal manipulation, is BIAS.

So much research have been done in the last 20 years in this subject and it is almost always flawed with conflict of interest and the weak suggestions " more research is needed to be done", really, more, 20 years ?

It's should be clear now that it doesn't work in the way it is sold to the general public, no misalignment, no such thing as a subluxation and so on.
Adults is always responsible for their own actions and choices of decisions.
But what about when it comes to the treatment of babys?

Where not real solid bone structure is developed yet, and they can't say no to this kind of treatments, and there is no real evidence, that it works and a lot of the reasons for treatment after the births, is not based on real illnesses or syndromes, but just kind of made up things. I really think that the recommendation for such treatments and with evidence/ lack of evidence suggests that it should not be recommended for babys or at least there should be more clear and stricter guidelines for recommendations when it comes to treatments of babys with manipulations.

I like the way spinal manipulation is studied as a product. I know for a fact that skill set of the practitioner and the individualized application of the adjustment/manipulation etc is a huge factor in effectiveness.

For example there may be a practitioner who I love to adjust/manip my neck, but are not as as skilled in the extremities or low back. Also, another person being treated by the same practitioner may have the opposite experience.

I think research is definitely limited in this regard. You can’t manipulate one person differently than the rest… everyone has to get the exact same treatment otherwise it isn’t valid data. I believe this is why results in studies are significantly less than vs clinical practice by a skilled practitioner.

Saying it's okay to get spinal manipulation because it's 'as good as other treatment options', when in that same sentence it says that it is 'no better than sham spinal manipulation' kind of implies that those 'other treatment options' are also no better than sham spinal manipulation. Which means... we've got a problem here haha, what are those 'other treatment options' which are potentially no better than sham spinal manipulation? Maybe they should be avoided also, and definitely not used as reasoning for undertaking spinal manipulation. Am I misinterpreting the information? What are your thoughts? :)
