In this week's episode, #128, I will conclude our reading of the story of Cath Finntrágha, The Battle of the White Strand, from the Finn cycle of tales. This is a legendary battle in which the Fianna (with the help of the Tuatha Dé Danann) battle against Dáire Donn, the "king of the world" and the massed armies that come to take Ireland. Based at Ventry (from the Irish Finntraigh or White Strand) in Co. Kerry, the story of this legendary battle was first written down in the 15th century but is based on much older materials.
