Welcome back to the Candlelit Tales Podcast. This is the Invasions Series, Episode 128 the penultimate episode of this series.

This is the last episode of this fairly long series. And we decided to end it on a caracter we met in the very first story, and one who has cropped up a couple of times since; Fintan Mac Bocera. He is known as the wise seer, and spiritual connection between man and island. He transformed to become one with every aspect of Ireland, and observe it from every point of view. He has seen all of the people come to Ireland, and he has watched from the eyes of a boar, a stag, a salmon and even a bird.

But now he meets the hawk of Achill again, and they share their desire to rest. This is a tale with a very definite end point… Fintan and the Hawk walk away from this world, together, never to return.

We will be talking about this story in more detail in the next episode. Drop us a line or ask us a question and we’ll try to get to it in our live post-show chat that is coming out at the end of the month.

I get the feeling if this was being preformed back in the day, it would have been the framework for lots of little or not so little detours all over the place. A sort of the greatest hits of popular tales in that area at that time. Prob a good cover for rambling after a few drinks as well. Hey, as long as you remember to get back to the hawk and the druid having a chat at some point, nobody will be any the wiser.
