Logic lets you edit individual takes too - can’t remember if there’s an option you have to tick, but it sets the takes out as individual tracks that have all the normal editing features. Logic also has scale quantise too - it’s in the piano roll.

Cubase/Nuendo have had this feature forever. Having said that, I'm glad it's there in Ableton now too.

Studio one has been doing the comping, scales, randomize/humanize, and has had a convolution reverb forever but that’s cool that ableton does it now too

People forget Ableton was designed with live performances at the heart it was only once they realised People were using it to write music that they started to build on it so that's why it seems a little behind others. Ableton version 1 couldn't even use midi 😲

I love Ableton, I just bought it but have been using Logic for about 6 months. I bought Native Instruments guitar rig 6 and my old macbook pro 2015 couldn't handle the processing power. So I've got a new PC with Ableton 11 on. I only got the standard version but hope to upgrade to the suite one day..

I started using Ableton about 4 months ago now...it has a lot of advantages over Logic but it probably depends on the genre of music you are working on. For example if you want to create IDM or glitch hop..anything with technical editing like that Ableton is really the only choice. It seemed that I would continue to use Logic for pop production but now i'm not so sure. I never use Pro Tools anymore and my only real problem with many of the other DAWS is there isn't a single studio I go to using them. The navigation and zooming capabilities are a legit complaint...I hope that improves. The musicality of the plugins and instruments with Ableton are profoundly better than Logic.

I am very much " Logic Pro for life" type (been using it for more than a decade), but i have to admit this Abelton update looks amazing. I mainly love the plug-ins and wish Logic Pro would adopt this "experimental spirit" from Ableton. Collision, Corpus, Resonator, all the various CV integrations, Racks, plus these new Spectral FX and MPE Control are all so cool. I wish there were similar things built-in LPX. LPX has some great plug-ins that new serious revamping/updating. Things like Spectral Gate, EVOC FB, Enveloper are good but need to be improved. IDK..sometimes i feel like LPX represents the past and Ableton is the future. Convince me otherwise...lol.

After reading a lot of the comments it reminds me of when Apple computers first starting gaining traction. Every PC user said yeah but...we;ve been doing that forever...it's not a real computer...I find Ableton such a strong product with so much potential. the creators seem to have a very musical mindset and the combination of elements just seem better. I love their chances against all comers.

I'm not impressed tbh. This feels like 10.5 for me. Sad.

Sorry, but the workflow with the zoom functionality blocks me from leaving Logic 🤷‍♂️

:) Reaper has had comping and key scales for many, many years now. I had no idea Ableton was soooo far behind 'cause I quit using it years ago for a bunch of reasons. But I'm happy for all of you Ableton users that sometime soon, you can enjoy these features.

I record vocals on Ableton quite a bit, but am thinking about using FL studio.
Which do you think is better to record vocals?

When people release a single or an album do they bang on about which DAW they used?

Reaper has a similar comping system, you have volume, pan, pitch, time-stretch and effects for every single take item, not just the whole take. :)

Ableton is cool but Cubase has had lanes and the comp tool since 2012. Cubase 11 also has the scale feature. Oh and it’s had the random velocity feature since cubase 5 I think. Ableton is a little behind with these features.
