Ableton Live 11 First Look

Ableton has just announced that Ableton Live 11 is on its way and here at Sonic Academy a very excited Phil Johnston has managed to get his hands on the Beta!!

Here he takes a quick look at some of the updated game-changing features including vocal comping, linked tracks, new reverbs and delays, midi clips, macro improvements and MPE!

Phil is just scratching the surface and no doubt we'll be covering everything in a lot more detail in time but it certainly looks like Ableton have done it once again and shown why they are one of the most popular DAW's out there.

OK, super cool update so far. The last thing I'm missing is the mixer view in the arrangement window and VCA faders. That would be the cherry on the cake.

Did they fix the problem the show devices slots? It’s a hidden feature in the option.txt that allows you to see the effects assigned per track on the session view. In the current versions it’s very buggy and won’t sometimes display the effects names assigned. I was hoping that instead of it being a hidden feature it would be added as a normal feature, but fixed. It makes knowing what’s on each track much easier to see instead of having to click on each one and look at what’s there.

Can anyone tell me whether the multiple takes in the new comping mode can be played back simultaneously all together, rather than just as sequential slices of the different clips?

Awesome update, but I can't watch the video due to terrible sharpening filter you got on it. Very distracting :(
