I'm just laughing that even Microsoft employees see the issues with the search bar results xD

My visual studio code looks different, it has a black theme and all the tools are on the left instead of right. Also the icons are slightly different.

The solution to Visual Studio looking different than the video is below.

Step 1: Go to the gear box on the bottom left of the screen (from the default install with the black background)
Step 2: Click on color theme and choose "Light+ (default light)"

By now, VS should be placed into a similar light as the video.

Step 3: Go to the gear box again and click on settings

Step 4: Scroll down to side bar location and change the location from left to right.

Step 5: X out of the settings tab at the top of VS.

It should now look like the Visual Studio in the video, and no, I'm not a Microsoft employee.

there is zero point using microsoft IDE when there are ones specifically built for python and require no pluggins or extra settings to work. This video is just an advertisement for a microsoft product.

Note: When I did it, VS Code automatically installed the Jupyter Notebook extension as well. Do not worry if you encounter the same situation.

Hmm my menu in VS Code is on the left and there's no icon with a plus, als no Python-getting-started file on screen.

I don’t have that folder to add the damn workspace or whatever. I just wanted to learn how to code I don’t understand what the damn program wants from me.. I keep getting the damn no such file or directory error.

OMG, I was trying to make VS Code look more like the version they are using in the video, went to the "view" tab, thought it might "zen mode'. DO NOT try that. It makes everything disappear. Still not sure how to get out of Zen Mode. Apparently not the only one from searching online.
If this is MSFT's attempt to get us to use their development studio, it's not a great start.
