Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (HD) playthrough ~Longplay~

This is a playthrough of Sonic Adventure 2: Battle for PC, including the Hero, Dark, and Last stories, as well as the Kart Race minigame and the secret unlockable final stage (timestamps below).

SANIC AVENSHURE TOOOOOOOOOO! SANIC! SANIC!

In 2001, SEGA decided to release a follow-up to their flagship Dreamcast title starring our ~favourite~ blue hedgehog, and an evil artificially created hedgehog who looks nothing like him - but that doesn't stop the military from mistaking the two!

Regardless of the very obvious flaws, Sonic Adventure 2 is my favourite game I've ever played and since I'm recording the game for the eventual HFC commentary I figured I'd upload the non-commentary gameplay here, as my old run hasn't aged too well.

The PC port admittedly isn't perfect. If you have a high refresh rate monitor you'll need to cap the framerate to 60 yourself with something like RivaTuner otherwise the game will run faster than it's supposed to, and there are a handful of other rough edges throughout, like inconsistent resolutions for cutscenes (with some using pillarboxing which, hilariously, doesn't -quite- reach the top of the screen).

It's still a convenient way to play SA2, however, which for someone who grew up in PAL-land is something I'm grateful for.

This has got to be one of the most legendary games. The music, the gameplay, they’ve both stood the test of time. The nostalgia is so intense.

Man so many memories. Nothing but time on Friday nights, some chips, candy, a dark room, and sore eyes after hours of being stuck on a knuckles level. Then go to sleep and wake up early at like 6am to try again.

This game had ZERO misses... The graphics, soundtrack, gameplay, chaos... It was a 10/10...
The nostalgia is ridiculous watching this, smiling ear to ear right now, singing each song word for word, damn near acting like I got the controller in my hands while you're playing this...

Am I the only one that still actually replays this game and not just talk about it. This game was honestly ONE of the last good sonic games. Imagine if they remade this. I still go back and make new chao in the garden. OML good times! Shadow is the best My mom put this on lay away for me. Yall remember that? I feel so old but I love the memories but i'm almost 30!!

2:12:48 That scene with that music just gets me everytime. Shadow on the verge of leaving the island until he heard Rouge's cry for help which sounds similar to Maria's cry for help, which pushed him to go back to save Rouge from suffering the same fate Maria did.
