To answer the question of bunk orientation, it is better to roll side to side, versus pitching. In the Royal Navy, as well as the US Navy, all bunks are aligned fore to aft. 😊❤

Sure I’m not alone in wanting to bring up, how so incredibly impressed I am with Simons ingenuity and knowledge. 3 cheers mate!😊

As others have said, the main motion in a boat at anchor or when moving is fore and aft. Because the bow will always point into the whether at anchor, so you nearly always ride up and over the waves. You definitely need to be alinged that way.😊

That's not fair!!! You got to tear that cabin apart and be rough!!! you told me to be careful in the one I took apart 🤣. Still managed to cut a pipe though 🙃

Despite the wind, Sarinda is coming across as totally stable and strong. Kudos to you both! She's gonna be a beast of a boat!
I miss Mason and Emilia. At their age, I understand the reluctance to be on YouTube. But, tell them that there are people who remember them fondly!
No pressure, though...

I have never watched this build for the camera work or fancy face tracking. I am here to see you restore this nice boat. The audio adjustment is appreciated.
I like the "Next Time" teaser.

That access hatch is so that you can get out of the room if the door is blocked. You see it on all yachts. There will be a door, plus an emergency hatch.

The best words from my hubby - 'I love you' and 2nd, 'would you like a cuppa tea?' 😊 Great video you two, once again...🎉🎉🎉

Also at anchor you face into the wind and it’s more comfortable. The new camera quality is great. Your motivation is fantastic. Keep up the good work. Love you and the channel. Chris from Western Australia

The camera is a lot better. Actually I should say the video quality is better. I think the sound is a little better too, but that could be because of your new microphones.
As always, I love you too and how you two work together. It's really clear you like each other as well as love each other. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. Happy New Year.

I've been watching you two and your family since you acquired the sad boat. I love the interaction between you and Jemma, and I love the way you share ideas before making a major mistake. One disadvantage out there is that there are no mistakes.

Beds on ships are typically placed facing forward (toward the bow) to align with the natural movement and stability of the vessel. This orientation helps reduce the feeling of motion sickness for the people sleeping. When beds face forward, they are positioned in a way that minimizes side-to-side or rolling motion, which is more pronounced when beds are oriented side-to-side or aft (facing backward).

By aligning beds with the direction of the ship's movement, the motion is more predictable, and the sleepers experience less disorientation. This design is especially important on large vessels where comfort and stability are key to preventing discomfort from waves and shifting motion. (Greetings frm the Netherlands) Erik

The packing gland, is usually nipped up, till you get a slight weep when the prop is running ( this keeps the gland lubed & cooled ). If you get your self some 1/8 spring steel, and make a pigs tail ( basically a bottle cork opener ) it will be easier to remove the old packing.

50p!! Woohoo!! We race automobiles, and tires are one of the most expensive budget items in the program. When we find money laying in the parking lot, usually just a penny or nickel, we yell "Tire money!!" Stupid humor, but we get a laugh out of it. You guys should yell "Boat money!!" 🙂

The audio and video are notably. improved. Keep it up!

That bilge was amazingly-clean considering it's been covered for at least 40 years.
