Fontaine, as seen from sumeru mostly is waterfalls and short mountains
It is also the land of the hydro archon

as soon as i saw those waterfalls while exploring i just knew fontaine would be there, there is no way they made all those unreachable waterfalls for nothing and will just replace them later

I always thought Fontaine would be located west from Stormterror's Lair. There's a gate over there that leads to a lake with a wall/aqueduct on the other side. Also north from Qince village, there's a path leading somewhere unknown to the north, which could be the same location. I think it'd make more sense that Fontaine would be there, since the Oceanid, which originated from Fontaine, would be fairly close as well

I think the actual Fontaine will be more steampunk/industrial looking. The way the Fontaine NPCs we've met so far keep on emphasizing they like to get out of there for some fresh air.. which tells me their city is something the opposite of greeneries.

Isn't Fontaine speculated to be directly below Celestia? Anyway, that could just be the buffer zone between Sumeru and Fontaine, then the Court of Fontaine is the one directly below Celestia so the OPs point still stand.

5. Volcano area(hot lava mountain based)

1. Monstadt (default area)
2. Liyue (grass/rock area)
2.5 inazuma (special island)
3. Snezhaya (snow area)

I imagine fontaine is like city look like atlantis and venice on top with Futuristic concept (Fontaine know to their machine, each time we see fontaine npc always have machine ) we didn't know maybe Genshin Impact will introduce us the new mechanics : Dive mechanics since Fontaine possible have Underwater City and Upper mechanical artificial island.

I think fontaine will be like futuristic island with some hidden ruins underwater.

Y'all just so y'all know there's a village in liyue that isn't released yet i forgot it's name but it'll be the main route to fontaine for sure, and probably there will get yao yao and baizhu release as well
