The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...

This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.

Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

17:16 Elizabeth Isabella Calfa, parents were Nicholas Calfa and Angelina Cesaro. Elizabeth was born in Chicago 11 Nov 1910, her parents both born in Italy, she had 4 sisters and 4 brothers. That's all I found on her..Great video, miss those walking tours at Mt. Carmel..As always Ron, take care wherever your travels may lead you - Trish 😊💛

There are endless stories in this cemetery. I've loved this place since I was a little kid. Went there to visit family almost weekly with my parents growing up. I remember the episode you did when that nice girl let you inside her families mausoleum. That was interesting. I never get tired of this place. It's a gem and a rarity from the modern cemeteries of today. Ron, you are only an amateur because that's as far as you are letting yourself go. However, I say you could be a Hollywood producer right up there with the best of them! I love the stones that have the covered pictures. It preserves them so well. Thanks to Deb for doing such a great job putting stories to these faces. She's incredibly! Yes, I remember the classy days because I was born at the tail end of that era and raised in an Italian family that clung to their traditions. Carmen is a woman's name, and the male version of that is Carmelo. I had both in my family. Italians seem to use the same names through generations to come. Thanks for the great walk, Ron and Brittan. Chicago and it's suburbs have the best cemeteries I think!

You two are a blessing to these people. You live rich full lives, but you always take time out of your lives to make sure these people aren’t forgotten. I pray that these people welcome you with open arms in the grace and light of heaven. May you always be blessed.

It's so good seeing you both. I love the porcelain photos! The stories about them are fascinating. The young children and babies who have passed are especially sad. I want a porcelain picture on my gravestone. Maybe one when I was 30, after all, they say that's the age we are in heaven. Thanks so much!

Hey Deb, it was that the rubber tubing from bottle to nipple was not able to be cleaned easily. Allowing bacteria to grow, and cause poisoning of the child.
