It’s untrue the traps haven’t changed in 100 years. It wasn’t THAT long ago that wooden traps with knit heads were still quite prevalent. Believe it or not, traps are quite finicky. You could have two seemingly identical traps that just don’t fish the same for whatever reason. To the point it’s obvious because the data is repeatable with hundreds of traps throughout all seasons, depths, geographic locations and types of bottom (hard rocks, mud, gravel etc)

You dont ‘harvest’ lobsters.
You take them from their home, put rubberbands on their claws and leave them on ice or in buckets until someone stabs them with a knife or boil them alive👍🏻
