In this video:

You’ll often hear it claimed that lobsters are biologically immortal. So is it true? Not really, though this is partially an argument in semantics as you’ll soon see. (And while we’re on the topic of lobster myths, no: Lobsters do not mate for life. In fact, the male lobster pretty much gets it on with every female lobster that comes a knockin’. Thank you, Simon. I keep a 1.5lb male American Maine Lobster, and he is amazing. His alertness, awareness and manipulation of his environment, and use of tools - including me - is astounding. We have many jaw-dropping interactions.

"The largest lobster ever caught weighed 44 lb." Documents from colonial America record six foot lobsters regularly caught. Lobster was unpopular, and was fed to imprisoned convicts.

I would assume that the bigger and older they get, the easier it would be for predators to capture them as well, thus making their immortality less likely.

Man, this is the geek channel I'd love to watch. The anchor thankfully does not put on the attitude of a 5 year old for doing a video, like all the other folks out there. All power to you!!!

So the question(s) for an indefinite lifespan is; "how do you produce more telomerase than you lose and if so is there some form of moderation that needs to be applied? Secondly, is it possible to inexpensively manipulate telemerase? Thirdly, if it is possible to prolong my life this way today, what is cost?"
