Today brought us the announcement of the new Fujifilm X-E3 which is a small form, rangefinder inspired camera design that in someways is a little brother to the Fujifilm X-Pro 2. This camera looks to be quite promising as it offers 4k video recording, touch screen, improved auto focus in continuous mode as well as bluetooth integration with smartphones and tablets.

Also announced were a new macro lens (the Fujinon XF80), a software package (Fujifilm X RAW Studio) which will pair the cameras processor with your computer for RAW processing and also a set of 4 firmware updates to newer X-Series cameras that improve radio flash performance, auto focus performance and bring 4k recording to the X-Pro 2!

Made the jump to the X series a while back and I'm home. I don't think about gear anymore, just making pictures. Bravo Fuji

I bought an XT1 a couple years ago after letting my Nikon gear gather dust and found my love of photography again . I credit Fuji with creating a camera that truly inspires and lenses that deliver professional quality images. Glad to see you sharing about this great product line.

The touch focus is the single most exciting aspect of this camera to me. Being able to focus on the touch screen while the eye is up to EVF is an amazing experience. That was what made the Canon m5 almost worth buying. I'm really excited about that feature entering the Fuji scene.

The Fuji customer service experience has absolutely blown me away. I've had questions and minor issues with my E1, that I bought third party mind you, and they still helped me as if I bought it directly from them. They didn't ask me for serial numbers or fumbled around with proof of purchase. They just helped me. This will forever be the stand alone feature of Fuji that has made me a life long fan. Outside of the performance of my camera, of course.

The price of their prime lenses especially is actually quite astonishing for the quality they're providing. I fell into the system last year and I'm very glad I did. I ended up selling decent chunk of my Canon gear as I wasn't using it much anymore. I still require full frame for a few things but I really found that the lighter, smaller fuji system serves my needs really well the vast majority of the time.

Been shooting with most of the other top brands all of my life until now. I'm in love with the Fuji stuff for all of the reasons you mentioned but mostly user experience and their commitment to the buyer via firmware updates. I've have never enjoyed taking pics as much as I am right now AND I have never gotten results like I am getting right now! Couldn't be happier.

I've shot the X-E2 for the last year and half. I just LOVE it. I think the form of Fuji X cameras are really the first level appeal for me as I still shoot all sorts of film cameras. My DSLR collected dust and I sold it last spring. The X-E3 announcement has me super excited. It is such a fun, capable, discreet camera to shoot and now will have all of these bells and whistles. Fuji firmware support has kept my 3 yr old X-E2 up to date. I can't praise my support for how Fujifilm operates it support for it's community of photographers. Yesterday my new X-T2 showed up and I am finally getting a taste of the Trans III sensor. Color me happy.

Fuji customer service is fantastic! I had a problem with a mark on the sensor of my X70 - No complaints from them at all; they took it in, fixed the problem, cleaned everything up so it looked brand new and updated the firmware for me and got it back within a week. I was stunned! Top class company, producing top class cameras :-D

I'm happy to hear that fuji does the implementation of the focus by touch on my X-T20! I hope this will speed up my change of focus point.

I'm a big fan of Fuji Ted, since the day they released the x100. I bought the x-t1 when it came out and now use the x-t2 for both video and photo. Boy am I happy with it! I'm coming from 35mm film (as a matter of fact, I still shoot analogue here and there) so the transition from film cameras (like the Canon AE1 or Nikon F3 that I use) had been buttery smooth.

Fuji has the best customer support like you said, and it's far more than just FW upgrades. You would not believe how many favors they pulled for me when it came to replacing worn out bits to cleaning lens innards.

I think Fuji is the best brand overall, their cameras are great (not the best, but great), their prices are extremely competitive (price/performance ratio is through the roof) and they offer unprecedented customer service.

It's so good to hear that you're somewhat on the same page.

Hi Ted, nice overview of the new, forthcoming X-E3. It's good to see you experiencing and enjoying X-cams for your still photography work. I've been in the system since the X-Pro1 in 2012, and these wonderful Fujis have rejuvenated my passion for photography after becoming jaded using Canon pro gear for over 10 years. I think the distinctions you made between how Sony and Fuji go about developing and offering their products to their customers is spot-on. Regading the start-up time of the X-T2, it's not the start-up time when I turn camera power ON that is an issue for me, it's the time it takes to wake up from sleep mode that I think is too slow. In these scenarios, I usually just turn the camera off instead of letting it go to sleep mode because it is faster to boot up from POWER ON than SLEEP. Still, it's nice to see Fuji thinking about this and addressing this. Cheers, Stephen Scharf

Moved to the Fuji XT2 from Canon FF, absolutely love the camera and Fuji as a camera company, the updates are based upon the needs of the users, the ergonomics and design of these cameras is superb!

Ted switched from Canon to Fuji, first the X100s and now the proud owner of the XPRO2. Love it! It says a lot of Fuji with their firmware updates!

X-e2 was my first foray into Fuji and I was hooked...have the x-pro2 and t2 now and love them both. Greetings from a fellow Fort Worthian!

Personally, the Raw Studio is the thing I am most excited about -- and I own a Pro2 and 100F! I really love the results I get from in camera processing. Lightroom can mimic the film simulations, but not perfectly -- so the prospect of being able to batch edit using the in-camera processor is very, very cool. I've been hoping for something like this for a long time.

I just came from a wedding where I was shooting with my XT2. Video. 4K, 1080, everything, no problem. That camera is a joy to use. That said, I would love to try out X-E3, seems as a promising camera. And I'll definitely try that RAW converter, no matter how weird and cumbersome it may be...
