Transformers: Dark of the Moon is a 2011 American science fiction action film directed by Michael Bay and based on the Transformers toy line created by Hasbro. It is the third installment in the live-action Transformersfilm series, and is the sequel to 2009's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. It is also the first film in the series not to be co-produced by DreamWorks. The film stars Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro, Tyrese Gibson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Patrick Dempsey, Kevin Dunn, Julie White, John Malkovich and Frances McDormand. Its story is set three years after the events of Revenge of the Fallen, and follows the warring Autobots and Decepticons as they battle to possess powerful technology from their homeworld that had crashed on Earth's moon.

Ironhide was a cool character, I was startled by his sudden death and really missed him in future movies...

Something I just realised about Sentinel was that he was smart enough to see humans as a threat. So he massacred the special forces trained to fight transformers. That's something other decepticons never really had the sense to do.

The fact that you can see how hurt Optimus is astounds me. I commend whoever did the CGI for these films, they really brought life to these characters I hold so dear to me. Say what you want about the movies but the 1-3 and Bumblebee are absolutely amazing and you can’t change my mind. Transformers has been and always will be a big part of my life and I’m never afraid to tell someone how much I love and enjoy this franchise

The irony of Ironhides death is that he was pretty weary of Sentinel in the comics until he decided to trust him.

Harnell nailed the line, conveying the shock and terror Ironhide felt both from Sentinel's betrayal and the effects his rust cannon was inflicting upon him, which made the scene all the more traumatizing 😰

I love how what’s her name thinks she can talk down Sentinel like he will actually listen as he’s tearing up everything.
And then goes and blames Optimus for everything as if he had any idea that would happens. Her judgement and so called authority was beyond ridiculous and unnecessary in this movie.

In the novel adaption of TF3, Sentinel's betrayal had more context. He watched humans in his firetruck mode for awhile, he saw then fighting anongst each other and decided to go through with his plan. He hesitated at least, but ultimately decided humans weren't worth saving.
