Why would anyone take EDC advice from someone that doesn't carry a pistol?

It really bugs me that all these EDC videos feature people who travel to cool places, mostly with carry-on in possession of knives. Why not just add an AK as well? None of that is getting on a plane, and you know it. Drop the sharp stuff from your EDC flyers kits, as it will be surrendered at security anyways. Is this just a ploy to sell more knives?
