The Rode Wireless Micro is an excellent tiny microphone. It connects to your iPhone and Android devices, but to my surprise it also connects to most of my action cameras, which is really improves their audio quality.

I forgot - the Rode Wireless Micro WILL connect the Macbook, and it WILL allow you to record sound, for Voice Over for example via Final Cut Pro X, that is how I've tested it.

Auntie Philip I love you! I'm listening to this video with Dynaudio studio monitors, and your outdoor Rode audio sounds richer with more dynamic range, especially in the lower frequencies, than your studio mic. I've got the Rode Wireless Go 2 kit which does the job OK, but I would love 32 bit float. Also a 12 inch pianist.

Lark M2 is £137 and is the combo version, you can't beat it!!
$149 and you can't connect your DSLR no for ne.
But great video mate!
In my opinion the right price is around $80
I think DJi is making wireless mic which will cost around $60.
This is what I call cheap and affordable.

This looks like a great small and portable mic solution. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing the real world review.

2 queries/observations

1) it doesn't seem to be having internal recording.
2) how to monitor the battery levels of the transmitters?

You never mentioned the GoPro, when you said action cameras, was this an oversight or will it not work with the GoPro and their Media Mod? To be honest, these looks amazing and my far and away the best wireless mics I have every seen, fingers crossed they do work with the GoPro. For an old guy like me, the ease of use is a massive bonus, I 'need' this in my life - great review! Cheers Alan

debating this or Hollyland Lark Mk2 combo, price is too close and Hollyland Lark Mk2 combo has camera receiver, and lightning connector too,

I already have Lark M2, so doesn't look like it make sense for me to buy one of these, but if i would choose now i would buy rode. This fluffy wind protection for Lark m2 is annoying when you're putting it on

I have the pocket 3 with the DJI mic but I’d definitely love to use this with my insta360 RS1 inch if compatible

Sunday, I bought the DJI Wirelss 2, paid $349. It shipped Monday morning. Then the Rode is announced same day. If I had only waited one day I could have saved $200.

Is it equivalent to 32bit float like their wireless go/pro? How does it handle loud noises like car exhausts or overhead planes?

Thanks for a great review as always Philip but the deal breaker for me is that RODe haven't listened to their customers and the actual mics are still that glossy shiny plastic and not the mat finish that every other wireless mic manufacturer use. Sorry I'll give it a miss. But a great review as said and a BIG thumbs up mate.

But do rode still make you use the app? I do enjoy how DJI is just separate! I hated the rode wireless it was like locked away files that needed to be taken out of there system first if that makes sense I used them 3 times and returned them

did you have to remove the door to the ace pro 2 to get this to work?

Does it work on the dji action 5 with the horizontal/vertical protective frame?

Not saying this is a bad setup but there are cheaper options around. Also given that also DJI will release a 'mini' soon its probably best to wait. This is because path the pocket3 and action5pro don't need a receiver at all and only the dji has 'good' quality over BT (own protocol) and you can connect 2 mic2 transmitters without a receiver and that makes way more sense on these little cameras. If you add 2 mic2 it will cost you 198 vs 149 i agree but you will also get some extra stuff like internal recording, 32bits, external lav option. I suspect 2 dji mini's transmitters (announced soon) will be cheaper than $149. Still its cool to see how fast and nice 2 channel wireless setups are dropping in price.
